Why Kenya?

During a recent trip, Dennis Perdomo received a vision from the Lord.  He saw a map of Africa.  On this map, only one nation was outlined and named.  This nation was Kenya.  It was shaped like a keystone.  The Lord told Dennis that Kenya was the key to Africa.  If we reach Kenya, we will be able to reach Africa.

Kenya has enormous spiritual and economic potential.  Probably no nation has received the intensity of spiritual investment that Kenya has received.  Thousands of missionaries have been sent to Kenya.  The Lord has blessed Kenya with powerful moves of the Holy Spirit.  The East African Revival deeply impacted Kenya.  The Pentecostal movement has reached into all corners of the nations.  Every Kenyan knows that God is real, and that His power is real.

Economically, Kenya is being transformed.  I was amazed on a recent trip to Kenya and South Africa  regarding how efficient things in Kenya have become.  In South Africa, I tried to change a 100 euros into SA rand.   I needed to wait in a bank for an hour, and sign a stack of papers half an inch thick to change the money.  It felt like I was buying a house.  I wasn't able to get a local sim card for my mobile phone.  It seemed like the bureaucracy was suffocating.

When I came to Kenya, within five minutes of getting off the plane I had a local sim card in my phone, with unlimited wireless internet service, all for just a few dollars.   When I needed to change money, it took just a few minutes.  Kenyans do most of their banking by mobile phone, wiring money to each other quickly and efficiently.  It seemed like the culture itself was changing, that the whole culture was becoming much more entrepreneurial, much more business-friendly.

To whom much is given, much is required.  Kenya has been abundantly blessed by God.   She has been given spiritual and economic resources that can impact the world.  If Kenya blesses the world with what she has been given, the blessing will continue.  However, if corrupt men try to grab everything for themselves, it will bring judgment upon Kenya.

We will be holding Leaders' conferences in different parts of Kenya.  The purpose of these conferences is to awaken the church, so that they can see the opportunities and the dangers that are right in front of them.  We are hoping and praying that the Kenyan church receives a vision and an impartation for world missions, that pastors will begin to send their best young men  and women into the mission field to reach the lost for Jesus Christ.

The Lord has given me a number of prophetic teachings that I believe apply very much to the Kenyan church.  I will be posting some of these messages on this blog, under the name "African Transformation Teaching Series".
